Portland Choral Notebook is a personal journal of the city’s choral music life – part reflection, part resource. Here you’ll find stories of choirs, singers, and audiences who keep Portland’s choral music scene vibrant and thriving.

About me

I’m Stephanie Noble, a longtime Portland choral enthusiast, singer, and arts administrator with a deep love for the choral community. Whether performing, attending concerts, or supporting ensembles behind the scenes, I’m passionate about the ways choral music connects people and enriches our city’s cultural life.

Over the past two decades, I’ve sung with many of Portland’s renowned choral ensembles, including Cappella Romana, Resonance Ensemble, Cantores in Ecclesia, and Choral Cross-Ties, and have developed a deep appreciation for the artistry, collaboration, and sense of belonging that define Portland’s choral world.

I love to attend concerts (both choral and instrumental) with my husband, violist Charles Noble. I also enjoy gardening, travel, reading, and spending time at home with my husband and our two cats, Lily and Polly.
